hendu
Got a call from this law firm trying to be tough with me on the phone. They were demanding payment and then, implying legal action. They are out of Houston and I looked them up on the BBB website and they have numerous complaints against them. Has anyone heard of them?My situation is this: Two years ago, I consolidated 4 credit cards with a debt management program. I believe the company went belly up or something so I paid the creditors myself at the same price. ALL of the ACCOUTNS WERE REPORTED AS CLOSED!!! All of the cards are doing fine, as the balances are lowering. This one card I have been paying on has a $800 limit. I was paying $22/monthly with no problems....I haven't even missed a payment. Now.....The law firm is saying that I owe them $1,700! The rep on the phone was telling me that the account was charged off. I don't believe him. And that interest and fees were being charged to this account. I told him I would call the creditors myself, but he said that they wouldn't talk to me. I'm gonna call them anyway today. I'm gonna send a DV letter to them as well. Is there anything else I should do? I don't wanna mess this up or do something stupid. TIA!!!

codename_fortyseven
Texas is a one party state. Stop calling unless you have your recorder going so you can log some violations.
