Okay, I just tried to post something and the login came up so not sure if this will be double-posted or not.

ANYWAY I know you say to read read read and believe me, I have, but I guess some of it doesn't really sink in. I haven't read quite all 72 pages on the collections thread, but...maybe when I have more time....*GRIN*

OK. In February I used my tax check to pay about 12 collections plus do a settlement for a credit card. I was so proud of myself! Then I wondered why my score wasn't budging, and I stumbled upon this site. NOW I know why. It is so disheartening! Most of the collections were medical, from before or around the time I got a divorce. At any rate, I have been dating a man for about 6 months who is in the financial field and he is always griping about people having bad credit scores. I haven't told him that mine is only 550 according to myfico  . Since he started talking about marriage I have been almost in a state of panic. I mean, this is a guy who has never had a late payment in his life!!

Not that anyone is interested in my personal life, just to let you know that I am desperate to clear up my credit report.

According to "you", I should dispute all these paid collections with the CRAs. My question is, how many can I dispute in a thirty-day period? How many times can I dispute one TL if it comes back verified? Do I have to use a different "excuse" everytime or can I just alternate them? *sigh* okay I will stop now....*GRIN*

Thank you so much!

If your going to dispute them, do it all at once and use the "not mine" the first go round. Not really sure what you can do right now, being that you paid these accounts. I guess try to send a good will letter to the creditors. If not, just wait for one of the experts on this board to enlighten you.
