credit-nightmare
I went to free credit profile .com and signed up for the 30 day free trial ( looks like TU type site , but im not sure) My question is about a statement on two of the accounts. In "condition " instead of closed /open it says derogatory ? (it is a paid CO account) is it suppose to say closed or can it say derogatory ? It also says "account info. disputed by consumer , meets FCRA requirements " ...wtf?? I disputed it almost two months ago ( only disputed with the CRA not CA or OC's so the CRA added this to my report ), should that still be on there? I wrote a letter saying something to the effect of ...I disputed this two months ago , it is still listed as in dispute by consumer , so since its still in dispute according to my cr and unresolved well after the 30 days , delete the TL ...but the meets FCRA requirements threw me off. Can I still insist they take it off ?

Revco
I've had one that will not go that's said "in dispute" for over a year. Seems odd as it's been supposedly verified...though the dispute status doesn't bother me, really. The CRA doesn't have to delete just because it shows disputed - that's by you, not the OC/CA/CRA.I've never seen a derog listed as "derogatory"...they've always been listed as closed/open. I think an account could possibly be listed as derog if it's currently in derog status...such as 30/60/90/120 days. Don't really want to experiment anymore. I haven't seen the "meets FCRA requirements" either...but I suspect the CA (possibly the CRA, but unlikely) inserted that because something was disputed about specific reporting methods, dates, or amount. Can you insist they take it off? Sure. Will they? Probably not. Worth a shot, though...you can dispute anything in your report.
credit-nightmare
Thanks. I guess its worth a shot to see if it will come off. Mabey Ill get a lucky break. The account that is listed as derogatory is a old ( 4 years) paid CO account. So I guess it is in fact derogatory , I was just thinking it had to say either open or closed not just a statement that its bad.AS for the "meets FCRA requirements" It wasnt on a CA account . It is still listed with the original creditor as a CO . I don't know who put that statement on the report. I will try calling and see if I can get an answer .I dont know how they can say meets FCRA req. Most all of the TL they verified is wrong and still listed that way !
