Ctt
checked my cr and noticed a collection acct. for a dr. office. Never rec'd a bill. So, I disputd as not mine to the cra. So, I then called my ins company to see if i had any claims that were denied during this time. so she did n't find any. The ins agent said she would called the drs. office to see what was going on. Well, they found a claim that was denied twice for wrong codes/duplicate claim. My agent pd. the claim and sent eob to me to show it was paid. Well the drs. office contact the ca and the acct. was marked paid. Well, I received the eob from the ins. I sent the drs. office a letter. Asking them to remove the co acct. from 3 cra. TU sent dispute results as verified as mine and paid collection. What should I do next to get this off my cr. The billed was for $50, but the ca has it as $51. help..... DocDon
Dispute as "paid prior to going to collections". If the CA verifies again, report them to their state Attorney General and the FTC.
Ctt
DocDon, I'm confused, the collection acct. was paid during the time I put in the dispute, so it wasn't paid before collection. Is their something I'm missing....I'am very new at this and was my 1st dispute.....tia
DocDon
The account was paid. There was a billing error on their end, not yours. Therefore it is not a paid collection. The doctor should have recalled the collection. The CA should have deleted. You did not pay the CA.Your dispute is going to be re-coded anyway, so no matter how specific you'd like to get, they'll ship it offshore as "this was paid" anyway. Ctt
Docdon, I just received in the mail today a response from the letter I wrote the doctor's office. It says "they advised the ca to remove my name from all collection efforts. And regarding any cra, it is the ca responsibility to provide info to the cra. You may want to contact the ca directly with pertinent info to expedite the resolution of your credit report." Well, I already did an online dispute yesterday with the cra. Should I contact the ca with a copy of this letter. Next step? Thnxs
