cdmosaic
Hi All,So I have 2 items that I have disputed with the CRA's and both times they have come back verified. But I notice today that the Date Reported date is 6/2002 on one and 7/2003 on another. Does this info get updated when the actually verfiy the account? Does this indicate that they have in fact done nothing to verify my dispute and can I use this as proof? Hope so.Thanks in advance, you guys are great! willingtocope
Only the Shadow knows what goes on in the minds of CRAs, but...the verification process is a computer to computer conversation with no human intervention (in most cases). Generally, it all depends on what the CRAs computer asks...so if you said "not mine", the creditors computer say "oh yeah", but didn't update anything else. You might try a follow up "how did you verify this" letter to the CRA, but I'm not sure that will get you any further. cdmosaic
Thanks, I'm trying the MOV letter to them now. One interesting point on this is that it is a joint debt with my ex and he has talked to the OC who says they no longer have any record of our account. This would lead me to believe that there is no way the CRA could verify this. But if the OC won't send us confirmation that they have no records any other suggestions on how to force the CRA to stop reporting what they clearly did not verify?Cyndi
willingtocope
Since the FDCPA doesn't apply to the OC (actually, is it just the OC, or is there a CA involved) then you're only two avenues left are an MOV to the CRA or and ITS to the OC under the FCRA...Gawd, I love acronyms..
