honeycomb
How long does an OC have to resolve your disputes? 30 days? From reading the FCRA, and if I am understanding correctly, it is the same time as the CRA 30 or 45 days. Can someone please clarifiy for me? It has been 60+ days since I have sent letters to 3 OC disputing their accounts. Thanks!
GreatGadsby
OC's dont have to validate with you. and there's no set timeline for CA's to either. that's why when you DV the CA's, you also dispute with the CRA's b/c the CRA's DO have a time limit of 30-45 days to "re-investigate" your TL's. DocDon
Are you talking about the new FACTA rule that allows you to dispute directly with the OC?
honeycomb
Thanks for replying! I've DV'd the CAs and they have been removed. But the OCs still remain and have been verified with the CRAs. I haven't done the MOV yet, but I had already sent 3 short letters (not a DV) to 3 OC disputing their account awhile back. In this instance do you know if they have 30/45 to get back to me too? Two of them initially sent me a letter saying they were investigating, but they haven't gotten back to me yet with results. Its been 60+ days and they haven't resolved my dispute. I was planning on sending an ITS letter for violating the FCRA -not listing as disputed, etc. with the hopes that they might just delete the account. (My ITS letters has worked so well with the CAs, - they deleted immediately.) So I'm hoping this may work with OC.Thanks!
