freshstart
i sent disputes, they came back verified. i sent letter for mov they sant me a letter back saying documents not available. i called them today and they told me it is all done electronically and could not provide me with any proof. they just opened the disputes again. did i do the right thing? im not sure if i should have demanded proof or what. what if they come back verified again? i know for a fact that one of the companies has no records on me but they wont send me anything, and it comes back verirfied on 2 of the 3 reports. i asked the guy why it would be different this time when all they do is use a computer system that it would just come back the same way. he had nothign to say to that except i could put a consumer statement in my report. really at a loss here.......any advice??? willingtocope
Often, disputing with the CRA doesn't accomplish much because of what you described...its a computer to computer conversation and is never touched by human hands. Your best bet is to start with a DV letter (CMRRR of course) to the CA and then if they don't mark the TL as "in dispute", you can send them an ITS for FDCPA violations... willingtocope
Okay, then read up on FCBA, FCRA and FACTA. You can dispute directly with an OC under the Fair Credit Billing Act. If they are indeed reporting info they can't prove, you may have recourse under the Fair Credit Reporting Act...Again, disputing with the CRAs is even harder when the OC is involved...
