jeglove2
>Hi all,Great Forum!!! Quick question. Is there a way to add a spouse to a mortgage other than refinancing? It's a 4yr perfect tradeline and I ask because my wife has a very limited credit history as she has always been a cash buyer for the past few yrs. Other than a couple (5+)yr old medical collections, she has Fico scores of TU(647), EX(639) and EQ(653). We are 2 weeks into the ole one two punch and may have some luck with these old $643 and $911 collection accounts. Thank you for any information. firstsource
If your goal is to add a positive trade line to your DW credit history, I would suggest that you get a 2nd mortgage (not a HELOC) on your home, for the minimum amount (normally 10K). That will build her credit score/history. That is probably the only option, as, as you assumed, in order to add her to your home loan, you would have to refinance.
