simplysilky
Hello!I have 2 TL on my Experian report that are the same. The same account number also. This is how it reads:Palisade Collections IncOC-AT & TOpened-1/2002Last report-12/2004Status-Collection account-past due as of 12/2004OSI Collection SvcsOC-AT & TOpened-12/2004Last report-6/2005Status-Collection account-past due as of 6/2005Would it be wise to dispute online with trying to get one or both deleted? Would my FICO score drop significantly because of the "old" accounts? Thanks!
codename_fortyseven
The negative points lost trump the age of the accounts. Dispute both as not mine and see what happens. Tower has a good post over at art of credit regarding this.

codename_fortyseven
Ok, you gain points for having older accounts, but you lose points because the account is a collection account. Say you gain 5 for the account age, but lose 20 for "collection" notation.Net loss of 15 points.
