lostinnyc05
HiI live in nyc and the CA is Palisades. I have read alot of excellent info here, this being my first post, my question is three of my bank accounts have been frozen by Palisades, do I have any recourse, other than let them seize the amount owed? Any help appreciated. The amount in the three accounts is more than the amount there seeking. Would a DV work at this late junction? Can I settle even though they have more than amount owed frozen...or am I SOL. TIA! Great and useful board!
blacksurfer
Basically you're SOL. They must have a judgement against you. You can run to a BK lawyer and file immediately, but that depends on your entire financial situation. For others, there's always a lesson to learn from others: In this case, if you have a judgement outstanding, deal with cash and transfer cash out of your name! codename_fortyseven
How did they get a judgement? Were you properly served? Did you go to court? Did you ignore it?If you have grounds to vacate, you could file a motion to vacate, which voids the judgement. They can file again, but the whole game restarts. Other than that, I'd get a bank account in a far away state...
