Do you want to have bad credit for years to come? Paid collections do nothing for your score.

What state are you in? How old is this supposed debt? Is this the first you have heard from them?

How do you know you owe them anything? Do you believe anything the first person says? What about that 2 grand you owe me?

Get the thought of paying out of your head, until they can validate poperly and obey the law.

#1 DV Them now.

Stay off the phone completely, and do all correspondance CMRRR via the US post office.

I am new to this whole thing. I have the money to pay off the 2 companies (Arrow) and Cross Country Bank but, if that isn't going to help my credit, whats the use??? Can you link me to the DV and what exactly will that do for me???

I know i owe them due to my credit report? 390 to arrow and 2700 to Cross Country Bank. Both debts are over 2 years old. I am in the state of Georgia.

Don't pay Arrows nothing! If you want to make amends than contact the OC not the CA and get it all in writing. I am dealing with ARROWS now, paid their collection debt and I got nothing out of it. Not even a Thank you note. They got the last laugh, so they are thinking.. hmmm. I am finding ways to make them talk but you don't want to go through this.. Contact CCB.

For DV, look at the "Debt Validation" menu item at the top of the page.

Just because these guys are on your CR does not mean they have the right person, the right account, the right amount, or the right to collect in your state. The DV process uses the FDCPA to ensure that the collection agencies play by the rules...it has nothing to do with whether or not your orginally owed somebody some money. And paying a CA is no gurantee that your credit will improve or for that matter that the OC will even apply the money to your account.

A$$et is notorious for "trolling for dollars"...making people thing they have to do something they don't.
