ggluvbug
i haven't been around in a while b/c things have been going pretty well. i have been working to get our scores up, and just as soon as we see a 20 or 30 point boost...bam...something happens! well, i changed cell phone companies in october. my contract was up..or so i thought. we made one change on our phone plan during the year so it extended it by two months. so, we talked and after alot of phone calls, they decided to reverse the charges. now, fast forward six months, and i get a letter from a collection agency and i pull his report. it is now on there. this is the first negative in two years. should i try to make a deal to pay for removal or dv since it is so new? gerrygoround
I had T-Mobile send something to collection as well, to Superior Asset Management a.k.a Superior Credit Services. I DV'd them; they didn't respond to my letter but it did disappear from all 3 CRA's in about 3 weeks. I'm just waiting to see if it pops up from some other CA. FYI - I'm in Texas so I can DV at any time if that makes a difference.

gerrygoround
Most states also have their own FDCPA; some will give you additional rights.
