jrwhite81
Help, I am very new to this and I am trying to get my credit together. On my credit report they have many incorrect address's and incorect spelling's of my name. Should I dispute these items? Do they effect my credit score? Thanks
virginiacouple147
I'm not aware of the addresses and names affecting your score however yes, you should get those corrected especially if plan on disputing account information. You may want to wait on disputing anything until they do fix the name and addresses that way if they are verifying accounts that are not yours based on false addresses etc then they will have a harder time doing so with that information deleted We simply made a copy of our drivers license and a request to get our names and addresses corrected. They did not correct all of them because some legitimate accounts are reporting with variations of our names, which is fine, we didn't push the issue but I suppose you could bang on them until they whittle it down to one.
