I am very new to this board and have numerous questions, I am trying to repair my credit and dont reallt know where to start. On my CR there are many items that I want to dispute due to the SOL I am in Missouri and believe they come off at 5 years. But the question is how do I find out the last payment that I made?

Thanks

Very Confused

Welcome to the board.

When you view your credit report you should see notations of specific dates,

here is an example:

Account Number: XXXXXXXXX Current Status: PAYS AS AGREED

Date Opened: 01/08/2 Balance: $0

Date Reported: 09/2004 Amount Past Due: $0

Date of Last Payment: Actual Payment Amount: $0

Scheduled Payment Amount: $0 Date of Last Activity: 11/2001

Look for those words, Date of last activity for starters.

Keep in mind that even if the SOL has expired that does not mean it is due to fall of your credit report, it will likely remain on there for a full seven years unless you implement some other techniques... for example simply disputing it with the credit reporting agency may be enough because if it is not verified then it would come off.

Good luck

Thanks for answering so quick! I have another question about the above. I just looked ay my experian report and where it says recent payments they have it marked N/A.But where they have account history they have listed 30 days late oct 2001, 60 days late oct 2001, etc. So would I be correct to say that my last payment was around oct 01? Also regarding this acct it is through the actual company, but they have sent it to CA, and that CA has charged off and bought by another CA, but the first CA is still showing on report, can I have that removed? I am sorry that I am asking so many questions. Thanks once again

When it comes to Experian reports, you look for the date it was reported 180 days late from the ORIGINAL CREDITOR (assuming they are still reporting).

EG

Account History:

Charge Off as of Dec 2004, Sep 2004, Apr 2004, Oct 2003 to Mar 2004, Nov 2002, Sep 2002

180 days as of Jul 2002

150 days as of Jun 2002

120 days as of May 2002

30 days as of Feb 2002

Now you count go back to the 30 day late that would've proceeded that 180 day late. In this case, Feburary 2002. That's where you determine whether an account is SOLC for your state (there are exceptions, but that's the latest it can possibly be. In some states, the clock can start earlier).

That's also the date for your 7 year reporting period. In this case, it would fall off a report January 2009.

Okay...

Okay so let's get to specifics so I can understand what you wrote correctly.

01) Is the Original Creditor still reporting? If so, is there a balance?

02) If I understand your post right, it was sold to a JDB/CA who is reporting? What is the balance, account status, account type, terms and date opened?

03) And if I continue to understand, a 2nd CA is also reporting in addition to the first CA and possibly the OC? What is the 2nd CA reporting for balance, account status, account type, terms and date opened?

Thanks for your help. Okay answer to your first question yes the original creditor is still r eporting with a balance. Answer to second question the CA is midland, terms are N/A, date opened 02, account stype is installment, and date of statues is 01. The balance is 4000. Sorry the info I just gave you is for the 2nd agency. The first agency is showing N/A for everything except date opened. Hope this helps

Okay send a dispute to the CRAs:

For the OC (may or may not delete):

Please delete the reporting from (name of OC) account# xyz123.

Balance is false.

Account status is incorrect. (If its saying anything other than sold/transfered)

There is no date of deliquency.

For the first agency showing N/A (they have to delete):

Please delete the reporting from (name of CA) account# xyz123.

I have no account with (name of CA).

For Midland (they are going to verify):

Please delete the reporting from Midland account# xyz123.

The account type is false.

The account status is false.

The balance is false.

This account is not past due (they are reporting 120 days late right?)

There is no date of deliquency.

Are you opted out and have old addressed deleted? If not, do that FIRST before you do the other disputes. It should make life easier.
