chris l
I disputed a debt with Creditors Interchange and they never responded but marked it as a dispute on my credit report. Now the debt is with LVNV and I sent a dv letter to them as well. Can they transfer or sell the debt that is in dispute? ThanksChris
GreatGadsby
if you DV'd within the first 30 days from the inital contact, then fowarding the debt to another CA would be continued collection activity and is prohibited. however, what probably happened is the 1st CA sent the bill back to the OC, and they farmed it out to LVNV. is that's what happened, then it's perfectly legal. Anonymous
I've noticed that. I would DV something that is past SOL, and I would occasionally get another dunning from another company for me to DV, etc.
