MommaMia
Our goals and dreams for this organization are to build an effective ministry that helps to pull people out of a downward financial spin. In effect, to provide a place of strength to re-attack their problems, hopfully, with more effective tools. I believe behind every credit file, good or bad, is a person waitng for an opportuinity to show the world what they are truly made for. Waiting to fulfill God's purpose for their life. I know that this world is full judgment for people facing financial challenges, and some of that judgment may be right. All the same, I believe in God's Grace and the second chances that come as a result of his mercy. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Rom. 8:31. May you find that place with the Lord.*taken from the site.Gag. I love spirituality and all, But I seriously doubt this is a non profit corp like they say it is. willingtocope
So basically...you give them money...they take out a loan with your name on it (and someone else's too, I think) and deposit the money in a savings account with the same back...you pay the interest on the loan...at the end of the term, they close the savings account, pay off the loan, and you get part, not all of the interest the savings account earned.Hmmm...okay, so the bad news is you're paying the difference between whatever your portion of the interest the savings accounts pays ("...3% or less...") and the interest on the loan.and the really bad news is you give these guys your money and they open the accounts in your name and then send you the papers. Right. And the name of the bank is? Sure smells like a scam...

WorkingOnIt
And the name of the bank is?That's what I was looking for too. There is NO background information on that website and they talk as much about how your money will benefit them as they do about the benefits to you (wierd). The only contact information is a name, phone number, and email address. You'd have to be pretty dang naive.
hubbys_nightmare
What I want to know is why would I do this? Anyone with the money to put in an account with these people could be used to go to your own bank and ask for a secured loan. Most banks will give you one (even with bad credit) if you've had an account with them for 6 months or more.
