Hello to all who read, and thank you to all who advise.

Here is the thing,

I disputed with the CRA's a few accounts that my DH has on his CR. Although I have yet to receive the results from the CRA he did however receive this letter from a CA that we have not VD yet.

It reads the following...

The above claim is still due. Since validity of this overdue account has not been disputed, it is now assumed to be valid.

We must inform you that we are a member of three of the largest credit reporting agencies in the United States. Will you be able to get credit when you really need it? In case of an emergency will you be denied credit because of an unpaid account we have for collection? This may show on your nationwide credit record for up to seven (7) years.

To prevent further activity mail the balance today, or call us. We can help.

This communication is from a debt collector and is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

Now this has been reported on his CR since 2002. However I may be reading into this too much, but I believe that they are saying since you did not VD us, we will now assume that you owe this debt and we will report it to the CRA's. (Even though this has been reported since 2002).

What is my next step?

Are there possibly any violations with this letter?

Again thank you to all who respond!!
