tmac01
It happened again, Two TLs from EX came back verified and updated. They also updated my school loans as well stating they are still late. I DV'd Providian, the Two TLs that I had disputed, as well. I haven't heard back from them. I tried a new approach. I stated that the account numbers were wrong and that the original account had been closed in good standing and that this was not specified on my CR. One account states " chargeoff after payment was made." this is not a correct statement !!I just don't know what to do anymore with EX. Between EX and Midland my EX score is 580. My TU is 625 and my EQ is 765. I just feel like a two ton truck just fell on me. What do I do know ? I am just so tired mentally and physically with all these letters, disputes, validations, CAs, CRAs, I dream little green cards at night People I just wish I really understood what some of you that have been successful in the past have done. Honestly, where do I go from here ? I feel like theres nothing left to do. I can't dispute the two Providian accounts again, they'll just call it "frivoulous" or "we have already investigated this." What am I doing wrong ? I just see my house slipping away....Any advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED
ktascoe
I to have been in the long and drawn out process of disputing info with experian. I have a Macys account showing on my credit report that was opened in 2/1996 when at the time I would have been 16. The date of birth of the individual who opened the acct is in 1967 and mine is 1979. I have brought this information to experian and they say that they dont have to delete the information unless macys telss them to. WTF!! I asked if experian would report fraudulent info and they said that they would report whatever the creditor told them to report. I said even if you can see that the acct is fraudulent and not mine. Cecilia (experian witch) stated that she only can report what the creditor tells them to report. What a load of crap. Please someone tell me I can sue for them reporting known info that doesnt match. mike111
My Exp score is the lowest of the 3, your two other scores are not bad at all, EQ score is awesome. Most mortgage lenders use the middle score anyway, I'm guessing you can get a house with two good scores. I have 2 neg on TU, 1 on EQ, 6 on EX... yep, they are teh tough one, but with two good scores, you should be able to get the credit/mortgage you need. Been_Ponzied
Experian seems to be the most difficult and time consuming to work with. You have to keep hammering at them. They are determined not to let anyone repair their credit, and they will not accept documentation you send them - and then later ask you for documentation. It almost feels like they make it personal sometimes.
Hammer
Trans Union has been my downfall, then Experian, but Equifax has been the best. I guess I will see what happens next.

What am I doing wrong ? I just see my house slipping away....Any advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED The solution is really simple and I have posted it before.Send experian a letter outlining the evidence you have such as the Certified Mail receipt numbers and dates for the DV's, BBB complaint numbers, etc.Tell them you called the furnisher at the number they provided and were told they had no record of the account or of ever being contacted by Experian to verify it.Ask them for the records of who, when, where and how they contacted the furnisher since the furnisher has claimed otherwise. Ask for copies of any documents sent to and received from the furnisher, and that if they fail to produce them within 15 days you will assume that no investigation ever took place.Remind them that it is their obligation to conduct an independent investigation and reach their own conclusion rather than merely parroting the furnisher. Let them know that this account is being reported and/or verified in violation of the law, and that they now have proof of this based upon your evidence. You will probably get back a letter stating that the account was previously investigated, but check your reports a day or two later and the account will no longer be there. You have, in effect, given them a choice between parroting the furnisher of following the law. Once they see your evidence (and it is not neccessary to send copies of everything, just the cert numbers) and know your records are in order, they will comply and delete. This has worked 100% of the time for me with all three bureaus. They will pay attention to your evidence, but most people never provide any. Without it, they will always take the side of the furnisher. There is no need to threaten them. Just make your case, present them the evidence, and remind them they will be just as guilty as the furnisher if they ignore it.Hope this helps. mike111
I'm just about giving up on EX, my TU score is 695, EQ 673, EX is probably 650 or so - with 6 negs!, I will focus more on getting TU, EQ scores up, I should get the credit I need:mortgage- many lenders look at middle score, so EX is out of the pictureCredit cards, auto loan - find lender that check TU, EQ scoreso I can just let it slide in terms of EX scores until the negs drop off naturally, anyone concur? my charge off accounts have most all balances paid off for EX, so that's not a issue in terms of mortgage closing. get A·non·y·mous
Hammer, I have to respectfully disagree with you, Yes OCs under the new FACTA law have to verify a DV sent to them... TMAC,I have to say that I too DV'd two OCs citing both FACTA & California Rosenthal Act (this states that OCs are to be treated as CAs, in regards to FDCPA). The unfortunate thing is that they just don't respond. I've also had many people on this board tell me that they CRAs don't respond to MOVs, such as gorilla is describing. However, he says he's had some luck when he sends copies of his CMRRRs, so it's worth a shot. Otherwise I've been told to do a search on "CHOD", as an option. Good Luck, I would love to know how it turns out, so I can try it on my bad OC TLs!

Good Luck, I would love to know how it turns out, so I can try it on my bad OC TLs!The way you succeed with an MOV is to provide the bureau with the evidence that the account was verified illegally, followed with the suggestion that this proves it was never investigated at all and makes them an accomplice to the act.I had EX send me a letter stating the account was previously investigated, but the day after that the account was gone from the file. I guess it takes the legal department a little longer to respond.I can tell you with 99% certainty, that collection agencies are never contacted about accounts. My success with this method indicates this to be true and results in deletions because the bureau knows it cannot furnish any documented information pertaining to the verification and are therefore liable for their own violations if they continue to report the accounts after obtaining this knowledge. They will try to push you a little, but they will delete. Nevertheless, I am considering trying this myself

Because Experian keeps refusing my credit file ever since I changed my first name. I have several threads on this.

That's a very interesting thread! Although a little over my head. I don't think that my file is locked for retaliatory purposes; I've never done anything mean to Experian. I just think that I'm not doing something right, and they won't tell me what to do to get my complete file. I just filed a complaint with the FTC and BBB and my state Consumer Affairs today. That's all I know how to do.
tmac01
I am in the process of doing what Gorilla has stated to do with the CRAs and I think he is saying with CAs as well. I will know something in two more weeks. I myself am afraid that the CRAs are going to get tired of me and lock my account.....I can't have this happen
