4peoples 10 Posted October 12, 2005 Report Share Posted October 12, 2005 if someone files for BK and there is a CC account on their credit report how long does that account stay on the report is it still 7 years or is it 7 to 10 (until the BK falls off)?It has that it was in a BK but when i called to see if it was fixing to fall off he said no that it will stay on there until the BK falls off Link to post Share on other sites

As a matter of fact, Most of the time, the CRAs will even remove the BK after 7. TransUnion does it on their own, the others usually have to be disputed as obsolete.The FICO model doesn't count a BK more than 7 years against you for scoring, so the CRAs have no reason to keep it for 10 other than to drive you nuts. 4peoples 10 Posted October 12, 2005 Author Report Share Posted October 12, 2005 on this card I am talking about it went 30 days past due oct of 98 and has not been paid since I went into BK dec of 99 and it was included chapter 7 i thinkso with this info when should the credit card fall of in april? that would be 7 years plus 6 mos. the BK would fall off after discharge in jan of 00 it would be jan 2007?
