otama
First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, but didn't know where else to post this.Seems like everyday I am receiving offer after offer for this magazine and that magazine. I exercised my opt-out option with each of the three credit bureau's a while back, but am still receiving these offers, and they seem to be increasing. Yes, I know that all I have to do is to rip up the offer and throw it away, which I do, but I am thinking that there is something else I can do to prevent these offers from coming my way. If I am being solicited for magazines, whose to say that my name and information is being used in another way, or being sold?Does anyone know how might I be able to track down what is going on, and to put these offers to an end? Or am I basically up the creek? Thanks.
anonymouse
Magazine offers don't, I think, typically look at your credit. For simple junk mail, you can sign up for the opt-out list that the Direct Marketing Association uses. It won't stop everything, but it will decrease the volume significantly as most "reputable" mass mail companies check this list and remove your name if you're on it.http://www.dmaconsumers.org/cgi/offmailinglist#regform
Ravenous Wolf
People who send junk mail don't need to look at your credit...They just buy the list... And there are so many lists available...
