beeboah Posted November 10, 2005 Report Share Posted November 10, 2005 Hi,My present vehicle is failing emissions and I would like to get another one to replace it with.My scores are in my signature.I have a repo from a credit union on my CR.I also have a BK on my CR from Capital One.Additionally, I "messed up" after BK and maxed a few post BK cards out.Do you have any suggestions as to how I could get a loan? Have any relatives in the boonies where emissions testing is not mandatory? Change your registration address to an address where emissions is not mandatory and keep driving. How bad is your car? does it put out blue or black smoke or is it the invisible stuff that flunks it?Here in Indiana, 4 counties are required to submit to emissions testing. Lake and Porter in NW Indiana near Chicago, Clark and Floyd near Louisville, KY. Ironically Indianapolis (the largest city by far) does not require emissions testing. "special finance", "buy here pay here", whatever you want to call it.Ummm does VA motor vehicles require a physical address or could you spend a couple bucks in a PO in the next county over and get a PO box and use that? I don't know if that counts for anything.Also, do you know how they verify employment? I am a subcontractor that uses a ficticious name (sole proprietership) aka registered a bussiness name. A collegue here has a nice car I want.Also, I was wondering if my wife has NO credit history would it help to apply jointly with her?I had seriously thought about doing that with the PO box, but I am worried about whether or not the DMV would allow that.I am going to check into that, going to give them a call.Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Can you scrounge enough cash together to get something inexpensive between now and then?Perhaps look around eBay motors and find something inexpensive that you can pay cash for, have the title in hand and only carry PL/PD on and set aside funds to put a chuck down on a car once your credit starts to heal.
