lisa8888
I had sent a letter to equifax about a collections account on my CR that I didn't recognize. Initially I called NCO financial to find what it was about, and they showed no record of my SSN in their system, and advised me to dispute with equifax. So..2 weeks ago I sent the letter asking for more info about the account.THis morning I check myfico scorewatch, and the account in question shows "bad debt/collection" since Jan 2005- untill now, which wasnt on there before. and it says "consumer dispute"Why are they dropping my score and showing the neg. reports for monthly while doing an investigation? Will they adjust it if it comes back as not mine or un validated? Im so confused/rattled!
cavazos007
How did the account show before you disputed it? Did it say baddebt? Usually when there is a dispute on your CR everything stops. But in your case I don't know what happened.
lisa8888
Yes before I did anything it said Charge off/bad debt. I am trying to call equifax, but the recording keeps saying the arent open, that they dont open untill 9am, but if they are in atlanta, it should be close to 10 there. lisa8888
I called equifax just now. The representative said that its normal for your score to drop while an investigation is being done.Does that sound normal? Has anybody else experienced this while validating something thru the CB? cavazos007
That has never happened to me. I gues that's they way they do there disputes. We'll just check on it when your dispute is done see if your score goes back up.
