~Daisy~
Hello all! I am new to the board.I have a copy of my credit report in front of me, and am going through it paying off old collections that I have. Here comes my problem: There are 5 collections on here, all medical, that only say "Collection" and give an account number, but no name of a collection agency, no address, no phone number...I have no idea who they are or how to contact them! I want to pay these, but don't know who to contact.I have called the agency who provided the report to the mortgage company who ran it. They couldn't give me any information, other than call Equifax, Experion, Trans Union...I have called every single number on my credit report, but all I get are automated options to order another credit report. Is there ANY WAY to find out who these collections are with so I can pay them? Talk about making it impossible to give my money away! LOLHEELLLPPP!!
Carolinablue
STOP!!!!! You need to sit down and read through this site for a couple of days before you pay off old collections! A paid collection does NOT help your credit score. You need to negotiate withe the CA's BEFORE you pay so that you can get them to Pay For Deletion. Use the search option above and look up PFD. You will find some good info.Take a few days and read through this site before you decide on any course of action. You don't want to do something that may hurt you and that you won't be able to fix later on!
cavazos007
Carolineblue is right stop and start reading. Do a search. But I am going to advise you to start disputing all those CO with the CRA's. That's always a start you might get lucky and have all of them deleted. You just never know. Oh and Welcome
~Daisy~
Thanks guys! Sorry, I did just kind of jump in here for help...Actually I did dispute a lot of my creditors last year, but unfortunately, they all came back and said they were valid debts. Now, I can no longer find the old credit info, as well as those creditors that are on there but no name/address/phone attached. Is that what you are meaning?Where do I look for the Paid For Deletion info?
cavazos007
You need to start the repair process. Just start all over again. Dispute with the CRA's and if it gets verified go the DV process way. That way you can probably get some feedback and maybe some addresses. newbie7069
Doesn' t this violate 609(a)(2) that the CRA is required to disclose to the consumer the source of the information??
VaSwtness
[i have called the agency who provided the report to the mortgage company who ran it. ]Are you in the process of trying to get a mortgage? Is paying off the collections required to obtain the loan?
