Surprised by Amex!

Recommended Posts

WOOT! WOOT!

I am over so overjoyed right now I could literally pee my pant's!!!(anyone got depends I could borrow)

I applied and recieved Hooters, Ok... I was happy. Then I get the Target upgrade. That was awsome! Now Amex Delta Sky Miles with a 3700.00 CL.

I knew that was one of the easier cards to get so I went for It. I just never thought I'd get It. I've been turned down two times in the past by Amex.

The best part is when I called to activate, the rep asked me If I was interested in upgrading to Amex Blue Cash. I was like...Ok.. So she upgraded my card just like that.

WOW!

WOW, I was just denied credit from American Express Delta Sky CC. I'm out of a BK since about March 2003. I have a 686 CS, purchased a 235,000 home, just bought a $58,000 Mercedes Benz and they tell me no.

I really want an American Express card, so what is the best way to go about getting one of the cards???

HELP

Amex is not a BK friendly company. Best way to go about getting one of those cards is to wait until 3/2013 when your BK comes off your records (or earlier if you are one of the lucky ones to get your BK removed).

Yeah, I've been out of bankruptcy for almost three years and just checked my credit scores from all of CB and I'm at 731. I don't know when and if I'll ever try to apply for any of the American Express cards--i.e. unless they invite me to apply.

Get this, just got a $10,000 Platinum Mastercard from my Credit Union, and six months before that another $10,000 Visa from Washington Mutual. So WHO needs American Express;)

I agree. I am recently post-BK7 & BK'ed on AmEx and have some great cards. Cash back, 0% transfers, etc. Do not want or need a personal AmEx. At one point, I think AmEx was a status symbol but now they are no different thanany other cards except greedier. They take a bigger cut of each purchase from the merchant, which in the end consumers pay for one way or the other.

I do carry a corporate AmEx that was actually issued to me while my BK7 was pending, but I refuse to use it. I run business travel through my personal cards and then get reimbursed. It pisses my corporate office off, but I pocket 1% of my expenses through my cash back card anyway.
