OC Re-aging Debt following DV ?

I've poured over the boards for hours now and don't see this addressed, so thought I'd toss it out there:

I have some old CO's on three different accounts with the same OC. I believe there are inaccuracies in all three accounts, but had always believed that contacting the OC would cause them to re-age the account(s) and potentially toll the statute(s). Is this incorrect? May I send a DV with impunity in that regard?

Much thanks, in advance!

They have no right to reage an account unless you pay them, or agree in writing to do so. By contacting them you are not giving them a pass on following the law.

I had an electric company that, after two months of meanspirited communications back and forth, reaged an account on me. An email to the CEO of the company got a deletion the following day.

Keep good records. If they do reage it you have the power for an easy deletion.

OC are not required to validate only verify, and before you can disput a listing with the OC you have to go through the CRA and wait for them to reply " verified remains" and they will provide you with information as to whom is providing the information then and only then can you dispute with the OC and have cause to sue if they continue to verify with out providing proof that the account is yours. So please do not try to validate an OC it's a waist of time.

Thank you, Cin -

I have requested the appropriate investigations from each of the CRAs, but was thinking ahead to the next step. A year or so ago when I last requested an investigation into the matter by EX, they came back stating "verified remains", but I didn't contact the OC for fear of retolling the statute. After reading the boards here, I've become a bit more emboldened in that regard!
