plaudit
Husband has filed cpt. 13 BK. A few of the accounts were joint accounts with me. What will that do to my credit? I certainly can't afford to pay these accounts by myself.
bingo
You are protected by the automatic stay that is in affect during the term of the bk.If the payback is 100% on those accounts, you have no liability. If the payback is less than that, once the bk is discharged, they can come after you for the balance.
divemedic
If you are not the one who filed, and you are a cosigner, they can and will come after you for 100% of the balance.
LadynRed
As long as the accounts are paid thru the Ch 13, they should leave YOU alone. However, if no claims were made, meaning they're not getting paid, then they most likely will come after you for payment. IF his bankruptcy shows up on YOUR reports, you can dispute it as you are not the one who filed.
