Raysway
Hello, all!Can I still DV a CA after failing miserably to PFD? Thier response to my respectful PFD letter was to send a nasty little form letter threatening to "take further action" if I do not pay immediately! They didn't even acknowledge the PFD request! I imagine I can, but would appreciate some feedback. Sould I GoodWill the OC while I'm waiting? This forum has empowered me to fight back! I am no longer intimidated by CA tactics such as this.Any thoughts?Ray
nascar
I would recommend that you don't do anything until you do some more reading. Start with the flow chart on this site. It's pretty handy. Read about each subject and step and why you need to do certain things before others to preserve your legal rights. You'll be able to develop a much better game plan. Raysway
Good advice, but I have been reading. I am familiar with the flow chart, but I have not been able to bring it up since the migration.http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebu...workflow.shtmlIf there are some other posts relative to this topic that I've missed, please point me in the right direction... Raysway
OK. Got to the flow chart to review it. Great info and an incredibly useful tool, but it begins at the beginning of the DV process. Oh well...I read a post once that stated "...its never too late to DV someone!" Guess I'll go with that. It doesn't hurt to try. If it's a JDB, then the OC can do nothing for you. And no, it's never too late to DV; but a CA doesn't have to cease collection if you request DV more than 30 days AFTER initial communication. Raysway
Thanks, Angel. Came through for me again! I have considered negotiating with the OC and still may. A friend mentioned to check out the SOL. May be clear there as far as any legal action. Will research more on it. Is an account with a utility company an open-ended account, written agreement or...? This is regarding a cable bill that went into deliquency after moving. Therefore I never received notification/communication from anyone, including the CA. The letter mentioned above was the first.I don't solely rely on responses from these posts. I'm reading everyday! there is a lot of conflicting info out here...sometimes from the SAME source. Sometimes my questions are to only re-affirm what I HAVE read and learned. Thanks again,Ray
