Monica1170
I called Transunion and tried to dispute some inquiries on my credit report but they told me that I had to write or contact the company who pulled my report. I would like to know why if we can put accounts in dispute why can we not put inquiries in dispute. This is just with Transunion because the other to did it. GreatGadsby
technically you can dispute inquiries. FCRA says you can dispute any information on your report.

GreatGadsby
bumpage. the theory goes that the CRA computer can only hold so much info and that by pulling your own report often, the soft pulls would eventually bump some of the hard pulls off of your report. LNY
So I'm guessing you didn't do the search that was advised in the very first reply to your question.

LNY
To make a long story short, you can delete inquiries from TU and EQ by pulling your reports daily at Truecredit.com. It can take a couple of months depending on the size of your credit file, but they do disappear. This is known as "bumpage" or *b*Why are you disputing these inquiries? Were they not done with permissible purpose? Just be careful because disputing inquiries can sometimes put a fraud alert on all three reports. Monica1170
I just got a house and a new car and I have so many inquiries.
LNY
If they were all within 30 days, you could try writing to TU and asking them to remove them for that reason; that you were loan-shopping. If I were you, I'd sign up for Truecredit and start the bumping process anyway.
wyldrush
You all talk about bumping by pulling your credit daily. I know you can have over 60 inquires show, which is the most I have ever seen on a single report. Where does this theory of pulling your credit report 90times make inquires go away since soft pulls will not show on your report that others see. ShineOn
My husbands TU shows 34 and 32 EQ EX only 20. These were definately not all given permissible purpose. After I found this site I wrote to each unrecognized company, so far only one has removed their inquiry. 8 have written back asking for his SSN so they can look for a file, and several have stated that I must first dispute the inquiry with the CRA. TU mysteriously wrote to me and said I should dispute with the individual companies. EQ said I should contact them with disputes reguarding inquries. I never even tried to dispute the inquiries with either one.I have decided to send copies of letters from the companies to the CRA's with a copy of my original letter asking for proof of authorization. I am hoping this will work.I am afraid of *b because I think his file might already be split. Anyone know how to tell?
