When is a late reported? After 30 days only?

Recommended Posts

As far as I know, creditors do not report unless you are 30 days late. And I dont think "slow paying" is reported either. I know I have been close to 30 days late several times and it has never impacted my credit scores. So as long as you are not over 30 days late you should be ok and not worry about it.

Read the boards. There are lots of posts regarding this. I don't think creditors report slow payments but they certainly do watch that clock known as 30 days. That's why they have grace periods put in place. Finally, if you have late payments showing, try using a goodwill letter to get them removed. Especially if you only have one or two lates showing. If that will not work, then I would suggest disputing all of your lates.
