lazymae
I received a dispute notification from HSBC for the Orchard Bank card. The letter stated that they were aware that I disputed with the CRA and wanted me to know that they "verified" the info with them. They said the account was sold but they are reporting the info and if I had questions to call or write them and they provided the contact info. So what do I do now? Just got it out the box today. If I remove 4 COs, I'd be satisfied.
direred
First, a descriptive subject is more helpful because it allows people who know the specific subject area to be clued in that they should read this specific post. Many of us probably don't read all the posts. If it's sold, it's going to be difficult to get the OC to remove the tradeline. You might have more luck with the JDB (junk debt buyer). lazymae
Thanks for replying. You are suggesting that I try with the JDB even though the OC is the one reporting?
divemedic
The OC should only be listing with a $0 balance, stating "sold/transferred to another lender"
lazymae
It does show $0 balance and account sold. I just wanted to know what steps to take next since HSBC sent the letter stating they verified and they are the ones reporting the TL. What do I do now? willingtocope
If their TL say "$0 balance, sold to another lender", then there isn't anything you can do about that one. It may be in the "negative" section right now, but only because of any "lates" you may have had. After a year or so, it won't impact your scores much...What you need to watch out for is any TLs from the JDB that bought it...
lazymae
So if the COs weren't sold, there's a chance that they can be removed? I am trying to find out how to get the COs removed.
willingtocope
If the account has not been sold, and is still owned by the OC...you may be able to get them to agree to marking the TL as "paid as agreed" or something of the sort. OCs are usually NOT willing to delete TLs, but you might be able to soften them up a bit...
