Nothing from the OC's there. The BellSouth items are due to a dispute I had with them. I had DSL internet service with them and switched to another provider. I cancelled service (over the phone) and they continued to bill me for it. I called every time I got a bill and they said they were sorry about the mix up and would fix it. They just kept billing me every month. I ignored them and now you see what has happened. Should it actually be on there TWICE though? The Comcast collections, I have no idea what that's about. I did have service and it was in good standing when I moved away. I had my ex finish packing up my stuff and ship it to me, but she may not have returned the cablebox when she moved out. I don't know. It's only $86, but I don't want it on my CR so I won't pay without agreement to delete. Should that be listed TWICE as well? The W & A Recovery is a law firm (Wolpoff & Abramson) which is listed as the 2nd worst CA in the country by Bud Hibbs. I have NO IDEA what this is about. I've never heard of Centurion Capital or W & A before seeing this and I still can't figure it out. From what I've read about them, I'm afraid to even DV them in fear of stirring up a hornet's nest. The amount in question is suspiciously close the amount BellSouth is claiming I owe them.I'd be willing to pay all of these just to get them off my credit report. However, if they really want to screw up my credit, I'll fight them tooth and nail. I'm not going to pay them money so they can screw me.This is yesterday's report after I have already disputed over the phone with the CRA's back on 9/7/2006 for all of these items. I have not spoken to any of these CA's on the phone or in writing. I'm hoping that some fall off after the investigation, but what about any remaining?Any advice? Thanks. nascar
Go ahead and DV, but if they are not timely, don't expect that you'll get a reply because the CA's are under no obligation to do so.WIth respect to the duplicates, if they are both CA's, you should be able to get deletes easily from the ones who no longer service the account. The OC and CA can both report if you have a scenario like that.I can tell you from experience that Credit Protection Associates keeps very good records and if they are reporting inaccurately, they will correct immediately. On the other hand, if they are correct, you''ll not get a delete from them. You can read plenty about W&A on this forum, or just about anywhere else that provides info on scumbag collectors. I would say that they, not Franklin, have your account.

You answered that question very well. I did look up all the information that I could find about W & A. But found nothing with regards to a PFD success rate with them. It is for a slightly different amount than the BellSouth, so I'm not 100% sure its the same thing. But hopefully, it is. That would narrow it down to only two account to take care of in order to remove 5 major neg's from my report.Anybody have a PFD success rate for the others? Neither OC (Comcast or BellSouth) has an entry on any CR of mine. That's the REALLY good news. If I can PFD the most recent CA, hopefully I never have to worry about this again. The thing is, mostly these guys are only reporting to TU only as you can see. HOWEVER, TU is my best CR. I have 18 long-standing good TL on that report. If I can eliminate these two major neg's (listed 5 times) my score should skyrocket. It's currently at 618. I can't wait to see what it is after all of these are removed and from what you say, several should be easy.Thank you.
elyse449
I'm not immediately sure about the other stuff just yet, but here's my thought on what you said on this; You said; "I called every time I got a bill and they said they were sorry about the mix up and would fix it. They just kept billing me every month. I ignored them and now you see what has happened. Should it actually be on there TWICE though?"Report them immediately to BBB, Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission. Their billing practices are deplorable and obviously they never fixed the problem. Do you have proof you had OTHER DSL services during the time this OTHER company was billing you? If so, submit that along w/ your complaints. That's what I have had to do in the past. Not only did I get an apology, but they removed their TL's from my 3 credit reports. Also, I know a OC/CA can each report provided the OC has given a zero balance and "acct transfer" notation or what not...but I don't think each every CA that gets the same acct over the years can report if they don't actively have the file. Consider disputing w/ the 3 credit bureaus the collection companies whom you KNOW do not have your file any longer. Good luck.Elyse

It's been about 30 days, but since I used a free credit report, I guess they have 45 days to complete their "investigation".I do have proof that I had other DSL service at the time. I will do as you suggested.
