counterstrike
Hello and goodday to all.I have a letter from the courts and it says that they would no longer report me to the credit bureau, however they are still reporting me to the credit bureau.the reported information is actually valid but because I have been in compliance the court agreed and said that I should have never been reported to CB.I would like to know if it's ok/safe to contact the credit bureau's by phone and explain the situation to them as well as fax a copy of the letter to them,it has a state letter head,The letter is dated from the year 2000.It seems that the collection agencies keep reporting this information with an updated year IE;it happend in 2000 but it is reported as 2004,05 or 06. Ahntara
"...the courts...are still reporting me to the credit bureau..."You can find a lot of information here about how Public Records make their way onto your CR. (Yep, the good ole search function again) In short, courts do not "report". Enterprising individuals/companies scan Public Records, which are open for viewing to all (hence, the "Public" part) and then sell the info to Data Clearinghouses like LexisNexis and ChoicePoint. Those agencies then re-sell to the CRA's."...contact the credit bureau's by phone and explain the situation to them..."Which begs the question: What is your goal? You may find a CRA customer service Rep who is interested in hearing a story, but other than that unlikely occurrence, the CRA's don't really care about your situation. They have their channels and love to parrot what their Data Furnishers provide them. If your goal is to have the offending PR removed, then you need to arm yourself with accurate knowledge and proceed in a way that will yield that result. You could start by providing more background and specifics. Many of the regulars here can guide you...
