removed from equifax then reinserted

Recommended Posts

I disputed an item with equifax and it was removed 6 months ago. I never received a letter stating that it was deleted or removed it just fell off my report. Since then it has come back 5 times. Each time I disput it and it has fallen off each time. It just showed up on my report again so I called equifax and they stated that since I never received a letter from them stating it was removed that the reinsertion was completely legal. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Not one letter from them. Pulled my report from them and it had fallen off. It didnt show back up for a month or so and when it did I disputed it again. A few days later it fell off. I called Equifax and they told me that they sent me nothing stating that it had been removed or deleted so reinsertion doesn't matter. They said things are kept off a credit report all the time only to be put back on.

Items are often temporarily removed during a dispute, perhaps that's what happened there. They're saying the items were not removed as a result of your disputes, so they can legally reappear if they're re-reported.

But the point here is that they did not respond to any of your disputes. Do you have any proof whatsoever of your disputes? They're in violation left and right. They can't just ignore your disputes.

That is an indefensible position. Here is why:

1 You disputed

2 Either it was deleted as a result of the dispute, and the reinsertion is a violation OR

3 The account was deleted, and the CRA violated by not investigating

4 Write the furnisher AND the CRA a dispute CMRRR

5 Since in your case, they sent a delete letter, write them CMRRR and point out the reinsertion.
