LNY
I know. Gotta wonder what they were thinking, or if they even looked at my reports.
credit_junkie87
Does it really make sense mailing thousands of offers like this randomly?
LNY
Does it really make sense mailing thousands of offers like this randomly? No it does NOT. me getting offers like this make about as much sense as me getting offers from prime cards I burned in my BK. What a waste of time, money, energy and trees!!!!
Texadelphia
No it does NOT. me getting offers like this make about as much sense as me getting offers from prime cards I burned in my BK. What a waste of time, money, energy and trees!!!!I just went to optoutonline and put in my info, which goes to the 3 CRAs who mass-market their files to the junk lenders. The phone number field on optout is OPTIONAL. Don't fill it in. It will be put into skip-tracing files. If you already have open accounts, keep them. My ethos is that if I want/need credit, I'll go seek it. I don't respond to offers in the mail. direred
I got an offer for the "Tribute" card in the mail the other day... with the low, low interest rate of 29.5%.Dunno what your reports are, but my offer (same rate) had no annual fee and would significantly reduce my util, so I took it. I'm just going to use it for small things and PIF. Yes, it's insane, but honestly, two of my CCs have higher rates (Chase always has, and BofA because I triggered default). LNY
Mine offered a max CL of $1750. Did they offer you more? But yeah, just tank of gas and PIF. Beat them at their game!!!
LNY
...and today I got ANOTHER offer from them in the mail, this time for $3250 and a rate of 27.5% "as of July 25, 2006."Left hand, meet right hand.
direred
No, mine was for $1750 too, which is fine. Anything more than that and I might put something more than a tank of gas on it. Actually, I think I'm going to put the pesky monthly payments on it ($5 here, $12 there) and keep it in the sock drawer lest it have delusions of grandeur in my wallet. direred
If the bastards send me a $3250 offer, I'm going to have to call them. You know that. Sigh. I wasn't going to apply for anything for six months. Pre-approved isn't applying, right?

I'd hate to think the four hards this month were in vain. (Okay, two were before the vow, one was for a CLI I didn't get, and one was for this pre-approved thing.) Unfortunately, I had eight LAST month. Bad me.cavazos007, sorry about the hijack.

Or am I misunderstanding the question again?(and you don't have to apologize to the little missy. she's a professional thread-jacker herself. )

Or am I misunderstanding the question again?Nah, I'm just whining about my poor impulse control. Besides, as an aspiring CW, I feel embarrassed about having a hard from COMPUCREDIT on my reports. Next thing you know, they'll be thinking I wear Crocs in public.

And was it one of those "just send this back to accept your card" things? I've never, ever NOT been hit with a hard for applying for a card from a company I wasn't already a customer of.And yeah, the evil Capital One always does that... they will do whatever they can to lower your scores, so you'll continue to "need" them. direred
Hey, LNY, did you notice that the number (that you enter on the web site) on that Tribute promo is a 16-digit number in a mastercard sequence?I don't know if it'll be related to the number they'd give me, but if so, it's pretty scary.
