gt95stang302
So I made a settlement with the attorney suing me for a Bank of America debt after verifying that they were the proper ones to pay.I have the settlement in writing, language as "Settlement in Full".I hit up True Credit today, and a new account number showed up, with all the old account information.I called, they made an excuse of "We cant see anything because we are merging with MBNA."They said they made a new account because it was charged off. I said... wtf are you talking about. This "new" account now shows up in my online banking. Now I see an excellent opportunity to dispute this with the CRA's, and get it removed. However, they could also be attempting to collect the remaining balance. What should I do?
