tmac01
Okay, I have been keeping up with a Midland CA that has been on my CR for over a year now. Its the same TL as a Providian TL that is honestly not mine. I have fought tooth and nail with both Providian and Midland to no avail. What I have noticed is that every month Midland updates the reporting date so it looks current. I know this is a violation so what should I do ? As to my understanding Providian can still show this on my CR as a chargeoff correct ? I think that really sucks because I am being double punished on my CR score for an account that is not even mine. Can anyone please help me in the exact steps I need in handling Midland ? Thank you so much...
direred
Do you need higher up contacts at each place?
willingtocope
First of all, changing the "Report Date" is not a violation. That's really just the date they sent info to the CRA. The date you should be concerned about is the "Date of first delinquency"...that date should match what the OC is reporting.Now...if its really not your debt, then your only recourse is to sue. Look over in the lawyer forum...someone has just started similar proceedings there.
tmac01
Thanks Guys but WTC the DOLA does not match the reporting date. The DOLA is 10/2001 ? I mean I was under the impression that you can't keep changing the report date because it is incorrect. They reported it last year not this past month !! Also when dealing with Providian they are ***holes. I was trying to get my information from them on my accounts they supposedly have so I could see when the DOLA was and all the information I need to Sue them but they have just ignored me and of course they verify an account in their notoriously known 1 day. Midland has been the same way !! I just thought it was a violation, thanks... Frustration !!!!!
