pi8790
Ok,I'm to the point of just giving up, I'm 22 yrs. old and have so many bills that I can not pay the min. payment each month which puts me with an over the limit fees, late fees, etc. I have number of items in collections, because of checks on my old checking account that blanced and never got paid. One of the collection agency turned me into a law firm that keeps calling and saying their going to sue me for "beach of contract" I got in trouble with the law a couple months and have lawyer fees and court fees to pay on top of everything else... I really don't know where to turn now. Does Debt Consolidation really work?
thomassl
My recommendation to you would be to look into credit counseling first. Sometimes debt consolidation can have a high interest rate. With credit counseling, this will allow the creditors/collection agency to deal with them in regards to your bills so the harassment will stop (as long as you continue this plan). If you stop the plan, they can resume collection proceedings. If you are seeking credit counseling, make sure you look into the ones listed on this webpage under "New Bankruptcy Law"; in this way, if you are pushed to this point, you will have the required six months credit counseling at an approved site.
