Hi Everyone.

I noticed on my reports they do not have our current address but a ton of our old ones. Should I email the CRA's or send them letters to request deletion of these? I guess this is why i have not recieved mail from most of these places in YEARS!

Okay. You might want to provide more detail when posting.

CR's are SUPPOSED to contain historical information relating to credit accounts/payment history. That is their fundamental nature. Many derogatory TL's, like collection accounts, are connected to your CR by address. That is why you were (probably) advised to have the old addresses removed first, then dispute the TL. You are much more likely to have success having them removed if there is less data for the CRA's to "verify".

If you order a CR using your current address, THAT would cause your file to be updated (to include your present address). You will need to send "proof" of residence. The CRA's like Public Utility Bills. You could also apply for credit. That would also cause the new address to be input into your consumer file.

If you order a CR, you could then dispute via that report to have the previous addresses removed as inaccurate. Then you would be clear to dispute various TL's which might be linked to you by address.

That is what I was told to do first before disputes. Also my DH has so many address that are wrong and were his fathers on his report. I wrote the letters today and will send them tomorrow. Thanks
