jenny28
Just a quick question - if I had an account that was paid/closed off with some 30 and 60 days late, last reported on 2/2000... would it be removed from my credit report the beginning of February 2007? I'm only asking because this will be one of the first items that has been haunting me to finally go away and I would love to run a report on the 2nd or 3rd of February and NOT see it...I know it sounds stupid and like a waste, but it'll be a banner day for me. charlesa
Yes, as long as you are not doing any validation of the debt with original lender or CRA.
direred
Was it late right at the end before the account was closed? If not (and it was current at the time it was closed), then it'll continue to be a positive for some time after the lates fall off. It's great to have a baddie turn to the light side.
jenny28
It was late a few times before too, but 2/2000 was the last late fee...it's very exciting to finally get rid of this little bugger.
direred
Well, don't dispute it!Ideally, you want the positive tradeline that'll continue for another three years.
