VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
Yes yes yes...I am the owner of my very first home. I just closed today and I couldn't be more relieved. These past 6wks have been pure hell (due to an incompetent, inexperienced, unknowledgeable seller's agent); but after this afternoon, I can honestly say that it was a journey well worth traveling. I purchased my dream starter home...w/ a 5.625-fixed interest rate:shock: . To add, I didn't even have to pay a $4,700 CO...b/c it's over 3yrs old and under $5000. (I'm using a NC housing finance program that comes w/ a few strings that I can well manage.)I just want to thank all of those on CIC who have helped me reach my goal. Actually, I got here much faster than I thought I would. If I could kiss you all, I would (so I won't:p). Muchas gracias to all. This board is a Godsend...and I won't be leaving anytime soon. breathing_easier
Congrats, EA! I remember that wonderful feeling of purchasing my first home! All those docs and all that signing is a little daunting, but well worth it. Now the fun begins...the decorating, the fixing, the updating, the maintaining...ah, the joys of homeownership! Have fun! VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
Thank you....Thank you!! I'm EXHAUSTED (let's not mention signing those documents...please)...and we haven't even moved the furniture in yet. You know, I've learned something interesting from all of this: you really find out who your true friends are when you have to move.Sit back, enjoy a drink, and revel in the fact that you can now paint the walls any color you want (can you tell I'm a renter??)The funny thing is...I'm getting a kick out of being able to paint the walls. I've been renting for too many years. There's nothing like being able to paint and hammer nails into your own walls.Makes a nice Christmas gift, doesn't it?According to Santa, I've been a VERY good girl this year. Whoever thought that I would get a X-mas gift better than Granny's hand-knitted undies w/ antlers.

VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
Thanks, Suki & Deanna, for the additional congrats! The thread may be a month old, but it feels like it was only yesterday when i got the keys.Deanna, keep in mind that as a FTHB, you may be eligible for many more programs than what your scores alone may qualify you for. So, make sure in addition to repairing/rebuilding your credit, do some extensive research to see what programs are available.
