creditvixen1
I have a question about an account on my TU file.I have a old Macys account. It is closed ( has been for quite a while) but on TU it is listed as open . Its a good TL no lates, all positives and a long history. So should I just leave it alone or ask that it be marked simply closed. Also it is listed twice on the report.I would hate to lose the good points of the TL but it looks like I have 2 extra open lines of credit not being used , I don't know how thats effecting my scores. So ; should I leave them alone or ask that one be deleted and the other marked closed ( or should I just leave it say open ? )Thanks
pilgrimfaraway
It's almost 100% a positive for you - just live it there. You will know when to drop it because you will see a derog reason code from TU of "too many revolving accounts" or something like that.
