I was a bad bad bad girl...spank me plzz!!!

Recommended Posts

So, after applying for my Amex Delta and getting approved for 2K, I applied a few days later for Macy's and was approved for $800.00. I must confess it's such a high to get approved after years of denials. I keep pinching myself as I can't believe I"ve been approved on both cases. All I keep thinking is what other CC to apply for! xshotx

So...now that I have those cards, what to do? How do I maximize my spending power??? Seriously, I've never know when to pay, how much to charge, do I keep a balance, do I not? Is there a thread where I can find out what to do and how to use my credit cards wisely? Or any good ol' advise would be helpful. Below I'm listing my current cards details to see if that helps.

Capital One: $2,000 credit, $1,200 used

Capital One TJX: $2,000 credit, $1,700 used

Orchard: $775 credit, $550 used

Household: $700 credit, $425 used

Wamu: $500 credit, $350 used

Amex: $2000 credit, $0 used

Macy's: $800 credit, $0 used

Patelco LC: $4,000 $0 used

I think that I have too much usage but I don't really know what to do. I've been tryign to payoff orchard and household and was going to close it but I dont' know if that would be ok.

Congrats! :)% I hear ya! I just recently went on an "applying" binge! Got approved for Dell, Walmart, Target, Hooters. DH actually told me I should be really scared now. But I have learned my lesson so all this should be good. I would not mind getting another major cc with a decent cl. So as Cav asked what were your scores? And what did CRA did they pull?

Your best bet is to spend some time reading through threads and stickies. Most of us spend several hours and/or days looking through all the forums, reading thread after thread, and doing searches to find the kind of answers you're looking for. You asked a lot of questions, and there are a lot of answers. For us to pinpoint some exact threads, we'd have to do all the searches for you... ;)

Keep your utilization below 35% and you will see your scores rocket!! :)

Well, you are just no fun!!! LOL....I will search, just not too sure what to search for, I guess I can start by "utilization" maybe. I do a lot of browsing here, that's how I have increased my scores, deleted baddies and such. I recommend this forum to everyone and they've all loved it!

I dont' currently have how to check my scores and/or credit reports. I will see how I can get them so I can post them. I know that the Wamu card comes w/ free credit score and reports but since I got it about 6 weeks ago it's still not showing the report, only shows my score being at 620 but not sure which CA. I will post as soon as I know who they pulled for all the inquiring minds, as I once wondered myself....oh wait...I still wonder!!! :dunno2:

Which is more "fun"? Waiting and waiting for someone to answer all your questions, or finding the answers yourself... immediately? ;)

Anyway, I meant that you had a lot of questions, and the best way to get them answered is to look around... because you'll find many people with different experiences (and thus different answers to the same question), and you can weigh them all against your own circumstances. Kind of like "the more the merrier."

You might even have good luck by simply browsing the forums, page by page, looking for titles that sound like they might contain stuff you're interested in. I do that a lot, in place of searching, if I think my search terms might fall through the cracks.:)

8-) I know, I know...

I actually have searched before and couldnt really find the answers I was looking for. I will try browsing page by page, I do that occassionally, just not too much time to borrow from work to browse. I will try later tonight at home.

I've just been considering paying off and closing the orchard and household, not sure if to do it as those are the oldest CC but thinking about it I believe they were both secured, I'd have to check my old reports.

OMG...I seriously need help. The more I browse through this board, the more I am tempted to get a Hooters card! ...what's a girl to do....My DH will kill me!

Browsing is the root of all evil...

But yeah, go for the :Pasties:!! You'll make Cav's day...

Ok...can't stop thinking about that darn :Pasties: card.

So......should I wait for my amex and macys' to be on my report for a few months before I apply for Hooters? I've read some people getting pretty high LC and I wonder if having the amex/macy's on my reports for about 6 months at least would make a difference on how much I get....

Or maybe I"ll just go for the Carnival or Juniper one... xLoserx

OK...edited to add:

My scores are:

EX: 610

EQ: 613

TU: 620

I am not sure how I got the Amex and Macy's cards...

The biggest credit junkie here is LNY

ME?! Sweetheart, I have credit. I don't USE credit. I only get what I need to manipulate my scores and reports. I have like 1% utilization (because I put stuff on cards for cash back, heh).
