well I do not have any collection on my credit, I dispute all of them and they came off the only thing is this bk from 2000 and inquires(20). I even dispute what was in the BK and they came off Now I have this Bk on my credit report but everything I put in the BK I dispute. i have a lot of inquires from trying to get a home loan. I decide to put that on the back burner until later on this year. I got these 4 credit cards to rebuild my credit since I did not have any. I max out all the cards christmas going to pay them all off the end of this month, i dispute the bk but only came off my experian report, going to try again with tu and eq. do you think the BK is keeping my credit scores from reaching 700s I wish i never file BK if i had knew about this site I would have never filed!

If you dispute your inquiries with EQ, they will delete them 99% of the time no questions asked. As for TU and EX, they will not delete them. As for BKs with EQ, I have had zero luck. They hold on to them until the very final day! I have had luck with one BK with TU and EX but that's it. Good luck.

Your scores also dropped because you maxed out your credit cards! You have to lower those cards down to 5%. I always leave a little on mine because you need a good constant payment history.

If you pay everything off, then you are not paying monthly, and you are not building any good credit. They like to see a good payment history so keep paying something on your cards every month, but keep the balances very low.

Regarding your BK, you will always have a lower score with that dreaded mark on your report!

First, do you need higher than 700 scores for a particular reason?

Next, if you do, buy your FICO scores from myfico and examine the reasons for why you are scored the way you are.

I agree with Northern Lights that you shouldn't max out your cards. There are "break points" at 30% and 50% utilization. It's definitely better to stay below 30% utilized, both on each credit card, and overall.

The effect of the inquiries will diminish as they fall off the 6 month period, and more after 1 year (gone after 2 years). Don't get any more and your score will go up in time.
