I also need to know if a CA has the right to put me down as a refusal to pay on an account when I have tried to make arrangements to pay on the account to pay it off ? Need help soon. ThanksPAP1969 You need to be more specfic about what "negatives" you have first. They are not handled the same way. You need also to provide more information regarding your collection account. I personally do not deal with collection agencies; I prefer to work with the original creditor and have better results in getting corrections made. pap1969
thomass!what I meant by negatives is CO on CR and will they remove them immediately after I pay offf the account ? I am dealing with a collection company hired by a creditor now and they are not willing to take payment arrangements on account so what do I do ? I am in the process of paying off 4 accounts in the next 5 months then I'll deal with the rest of them soon.pap1969
admin
Welcome! Can I get the negatives removed from CR after I pay off a creditor ? I'd put this in as part of the agreement. I also need to know if a CA has the right to put me down as a refusal to pay on an account when I have tried to make arrangements to pay on the account to pay it off ? Need help soon. This is total BS and means nothing.
pap1969
I have been working with the CA's to work on paying off my debts and I will have 7 out of my 11 credit cards paid in full within the next 6 months also my car and our dirtbikes paid off. Everything will be updated in my credit report as paid. I will work on my 3 biggest cards after all the rest are paid off, I will keep paying on those just not as much right now. I hope to be debt free by 2008 if not sooner. Thanks for your advice.pap1969:) :) :)
timbercreektech
Everything will be updated in my credit report as paid. Just because a collection agency will mark PAID on your credit report does not necessarily help your FICO scores at all. You want EVERY collection agency off your credit reports if possible.Since you still owe them some money, you may have a little leverage. I will never deal with a CA. In most cases, the original creditor's are much easier to work with, especially if you do it by mail.I will add this to the newbies. You can get everything cleared up on your credit reports without have to say 1 word to anyone. It can be done all by mail. What the admin was alluding to is that after you've paid everything, you will have no leverage to get them removed. They have no obligation to remove them. I had to go through the CA's because original creditors turned everything over to them and would not talk to me because I was so behind on the bills. Do I have to call or write to original creditors and ask them to remove there ca from credit report and have it put in writing from them? thanks pap1969

ThanksPAP1969 I just wanted to say a big, hearty welcome!! This truly is a great place to be and don't forget...when ya get a moment, do LOTS of reading here at the site. There's much to learn. Getting the negatives removed AFTER you've already paid is difficult, it's been impossible for me. So, I would suggest you try to draw up an agreement PRIOR to any funds exchanging hands.
