slew7539
We had a business that was dissolved in NC in early 2006. We had many business debts left after this due to a large customer never paying their final bill, therefore causing the dissolution. We had many personal guarantees for the S Corp. We have been paying these very slowling personally, but 2 of the creditors are now showing on our CR. AMEX and Ford credit. AMEX will not stop interest on the account, nor will they update on our CR that we are currently paying on this debt. FC has been paid off, though there were late payments before the payoff due to us trying to pay them personally. This was never posted to our CR until after the payoff to FC. Is there anything we can do in order to have these removed?
willingtocope
Welcome...and, you've posted in the wrong forum. I'll ask one of the moderators to move you...But, in the mean time, here's my thoughts on your questions...It sounds like you've personally guarnateed the AMEX and Ford credit accounts. If that's the case, then you're probably stuck with what is being reported. By giving them the PG, you agreed that if the business defaults these then become personal, with all the negatives that go with them. The only thing I can suggest is that once they're paid in full, you might try a "goodwill" letter to someone higher up in the company. I'd suggest you say something like "...when my business failed, I knew I had to honor these obligations. I've done so...now fix my credit reports...".
