Midland is fishing for suckers. Don't be one.

divemedic
They are a registered corporation in Florida, but I have a letter from the DFS dated Jan 17, 2007 that states that niether Midland Financial LLC, nor Midland Credit Management are licensed as Consumer or Commercial Debt Collectors in the state of Florida. Tried
If these are repurchasers aka JDB's, the FL AG maintains the stance that repurchasers are not regulated by the state. At this time it looks like anything to do with JDB's will need to be taken to the Federal level.I would however, suggest filing a complaint with the FL AG office just so they have to keep thinking about it. Perhaps if they become inundated with complaints about JDB's one of the mindless clerks will get up off their hands and bring it to the AG's attention. divemedic
That was already addressed here.Do what I do- sue them and let the courts decide. Don't leave it up to some law clerk who is not a judge, or even an attorney.
nascar
Don't leave it up to some law clerk who is not a judge, or even an attorney. That's a very good point. That's exactly what's going on down there.
majorae
The last thing I want to do is sue them. They are not bothering me, I am not worried about them sueing me, I am just looking for the easiest way to get them off of my report. Are you guys saying that I need to sue them to get rid of it. Wont the CRAs delete it under the SOL?

The credit repair process that is advocated here on this site uses the CA's and OC's violations of the FDCPA and FCRA (as applicable) to build a case for a potential lawsuit. Everything that you do is a build up to that end purpose. In order to be effective, the CA or OC must have a reasonable belief that you plan on following through with the percieved threat of a suit. Most (not all) of all CA's and OC's will delete and go away long before you get that far.For the ones who do not, it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to take that next step. Sometimes you have to sue, or live with the credit hit.

However, from my perspective these debts are 7 years old so if they are going to fall off this year I can be patient- I mean heck the last 7 years has been rough, so I have tough skin! With that said- how do I determine when these will fall off? Can I call the CRAs and ask or is this a vodoo magic type process like so many others in the world of credit?
divemedic
It is supposed to be automatic, but CA's have been known to reage.
