This is in re: to my last post about the 15 yr old debt...

I'm ready to send my DV letter, CMRRR, as you have all suggested, but I encountered a slight problem.

The address they gave me on the notice is a PO Box, CMRRR, I don't think will work w/ a po box.

Soooo, I went online to their website(also in their notice- that was nice of them wasn't it) had to go through sign-in etc. and got to a page where I could view "my statement letter". Now mind you - I Have Not Received This In The Mail - It goes something like this:

PO Box 20939 AFNI

Ferndale, MI48220 404 Brock Drive

Please remit to Bloomington address PO Box 3427

Bloomington, IL.61720-3427

1/30/2007

Afni Account # xxxxxxxx-xx

Original Creditor : Verizon Communications, Inc.

Creditor Acct # xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Balance Due : $967.69

This letter confirms the original creditor and balance of your account.Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If you have any questions, please contact our office toll-free at 1-866-xxx-xxxx Monday through Thursday 7am-9pm,Friday 7am-8pm, or Saturday 8am-Noon CST.For proper credit on your account, please write this number xxxxxxxxx-xx on your payment.

This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. You have the right to inspect your credit. This letter is from a debt collector.

Sincerely,

Afni, Inc

Well, could this be a violation just waiting to happen ? Are they anticipating receiving a dispute or DV letter from me ? Is this a letter they plan to send me in regards to what they think I'll send them ?

Need some opinions here.... feel free to post as many as you like.

Thanks all.

sincerely, fiestyangel1:roll:
