Lotus96
Hi Everyone Well, after reading a few posts on here I went ahead and applied for credit with Hooters and Crown Jewelers.. I was approved for both and I think that's as far as I can get for now while I continue my credit repair. So far I have this:(These 3 Opened less than 1 month)Crown J. $1,000 (I think.. forgot the amount)Hooters $1,000Dell $1,500Older ones:Orchard B. $300Target $200I have about 6 medical collections from a few years ago and 2 c/os (1 Spiegel from like 5 yrs ago and 1 WAMU Providian from 4 1/2 years).. I think I can't get anyother credit until I gain more credit history with these cards. Will these be enough to help me a bit??I'm in the process of doing credit repair with stuff on my CR and being responsible with these until my credit gets better..Thanks everyone for the awesome and VERY LONG Hooters post and Crown Jewelers.. Thanks to you guys I decided to apply..Thanks

And consider yourself as lucky. It appears that you have "6 old Collections and 2 old COs" which are being reported correctly.I hear that when reported correctly, old Collections andold COs have little or no impact on credit scores. It also appears that you have NEVER disputed withthe CAs or OCs. Many times when I Dispute a Collectionor OC (CO) Account, they enjoy changing the dates toa recent date or selling the account to another CA, who reports a new Open Date and without deletingthe old CA account. On my CRs accounts always appearas recent, NEVER old.Know that scoring looks at "most recent" dates. So, if you're planning on opening additional CCs, it's bestto do so prior to doing any credit repair. From my experience, they will illegally change the dates upon each and every dispute. And I am not speaking of the "Update" Dates either.
