tbwilli
Hi,I have a collection account on EX from a JDB of an old Providian account that is past SOL. The Providian listing shows it was "sold to another lender". The JDB is not licensed in NC and has "cannot locate consumer" listed in the comments section. I have NEVER received any communication from this JDB at all. I disputed the JDB account and it was verified Feb. '07. Since this JDB is not licensed in NC how do I handle this one? Can they still report and verify even if they say they "can't locate" me? Thanks.
savymicheal
Experian seems to be in bed with collection agencies they allow them to invade credit reports with no questions asked. You did say it is passed sol so you wont have to worry going to small claims court, but be careful they may try anyway, if they do make sure you respond and tell you will tell the judge that they didnt validate and it is out of statue that will stop them cold!! Look on your credit report and see how long it is schedule to continue if it is a year then dont waste time on this it's not doing new damage because this is an old item even though it just appeared fico considers how old the account is. Experian already verified so they wont investigate again for at least 30 days but like I said dont bother it is impossible to get these off until the collection agency looses interest but if the date to fall is not so far away your work is pretty much done. You can send debt validate and include the fact that is out of statue and demand removal this may work but unlikely. So dont sweat it !!
Recovering Attorney
I do not think reporting to a CRA requires licensure in NC.
