johndoe
Has anyone dealt with Frederick J. Hanna & Assoc. out of GA.? I can't get them to validate. Letters to collection agency come back verified you feel like a dog chasing its tail. What next?

savymicheal
Collections agencies are not required to respond to dv letters. But be careful and always refer to this item as alleged debt. Unfortunately the only way to get these off your credit reports is to wait until the collection agency stops reporting they will eventually they only care about money. Remember if the debt is old the last activity date doesnt change so the item will drop off your credit reports sooner than later and no it is not worth offering a settlement dont do it!!!!!!!! divemedic
Sorry, savy. CA's ARE required to cease collection upon receipt of a timely DV. It also does not matter if you call it alleged or not.
dpgirl
You probably can't get them to validate because they can't. My guess is that if the request you sent was timely that you won't hear from them again but that debt will be passed along to someone else and the whole process will start over.
